Sharp Develops Dual-mode Tuner Modules Supporting DVB-H/T-DMB

Sharp said on May 22 that it has developed a dual-mode tuner module compatible with both DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting - Handheld) and T-DMB (Terrestrial Digital Multimedia Broadcast) standards. The turner module, claimed to be the world's first dual-mode model, will be used in mobile devices. Sharp will start sample shipment of 20,000 dual-mode tuner modules in July, and is expected to churn out 300,000 units per month in the future.
